Solo for a few years now and still looking for that matching pebble on the beach.
I enjoy the outdoors with plenty of long distance walking and cycling. Started the SW coastal path recently and rapidly approaching halfway. A great challenge but still satisfying and stunning in equal measure - pictures will never get across the emotional impact of just standing still and taking it all in. Food for the soul!
Cycling, I tend lately to head for the Mendips - going down Cheddar Gorge never fails to raise a grin. Took up climbing / bouldering a few years ago and wish I’d discovered it much earlier - good for the mind as much as the body.
Like many I have travelled a bit but still have plenty of places / countries on my wish list. I’d love to share those new experiences, whether it be trips away in the camper van, a long distance footpath, a gallery in Florence, crossing a continent by train or climbing Kili. Who knows?
Diverse musical tastes from the 70s prog of my youth to the blues, soul and jazz that seem to have found their way in of late, via classical and rock on the way. Can’t beat it live though, whatever the genre. Theatre too now and again.
At home I enjoy reading (really struggle to resist second hand bookshops) and cooking (more Gordon Bennett than Ramsay I suspect but then every day is a school day!).
Would love to be able to devour and discuss the Sunday papers over a pint or two, share a bottle of wine while cooking at home or stargazing round the fire pit of an evening.
I’m looking forward to that last first date, to finding a friend who could become that pebble, that only one in any room I’m ever in. I would love to make new memories by sharing old favourites and new discoveries. Feel like sharing? 😊
