About him
I’m looking for a serious relationship. I have lived on my own for a few years and I am a reasonable cook. I learned a few skills from my Dad who was a chef. I would love the opportunity to cook for someone else. I can manage the other tasks to look after a home but DIY is not my strong point! I’m good at SIY, (start it yourself.) I don’t smoke and drink only a little.
I am a retired palliative care nurse, a job I loved and always gave one hundred percent to. Volunteering has always been an important part of my life and retirement has brought me more volunteering opportunities.
I spent a lot of time teaching palliative care during my career. I was very fortunate to get the opportunity to teach in Russia, Ukraine and Uganda in a voluntary capacity. I was in Uganda when AIDS was a big problem and access to medication was very limited.
I asked a long time friend and colleague to describe me. She said, “Richard is very easy to get on with. When we worked together he always knew what to do even in the most difficult of situations. We had some VERY difficult patient visits. He NEVER failed to relieve a patient’s pain. As soon as we left the patient’s house he would ask me how I was feeling and I knew he meant it. On returning to the office he would check on the other members of the team.
Away from work I would describe Richard as very very kind, compassionate and caring and extremely loyal.He is generous fun and funny. He is not materialistic at all.”
