Hello and thankyou for taking the time to look at my profile.
A retired gentleman who has enjoyed two great careers, I now have plenty of time for the right lady. I am divorced after one extremely short marriage and have no children.
Fairly widely travelled, I have been fortunate to visit such countries as Egypt, Cyprus, Hong Kong (not strictly a country, I know), Spain, Italy (I visit Rome often), the USA, Canada, Australia, Madeira, Gran Canaria and Madagascar. As well as visiting, I have also lived for a few years in the USA, Australia and Germany.
I'm a keen photographer, preferring monochrome to colour and I'm developing a website to exhibit my work.
I like to exercise and I play golf regularly (I'm not obsessed with the sport, I just enjoy it and would happily forego a game to spend time with someone). I also enjoy Formula 1, Six Nations and the Rugby World Cup. I don't follow football but do take an interest in England's games in the World Cup. I took up padel last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also like tennis.
I enjoy music and the genres include classical, jazz, rock, boogie woogie and big band swing. I used to play the clarinet and tenor saxophone and have attempted to play the piano. I enjoy the theatre and the cinema, especially old classics. I like to spend a few nights in London once or twice a year and enjoy an evening at Ronnie Scott's.
I read a great deal, anything from novels to historical books.
I like single malt Scotch whisky, gin & tonic and wine. I enjoy evenings spent in good conversation on everything and nothing, helped by a tipple and punctuated with much laughter.
I have no pets but I do love horses and like cats. I used to ride motorbikes but I don't have one now.
I am considerate of others and respect their opinions, views and lifestyles however much they differ from mine, but I have no time for the obscene 'cancel culture' or 'WOKE' ideology.
Distance isn't a problem for me. I'm prepared to travel for the right person.
About his ideal match
A lady, first and foremost. One who has no children, or who has but they have definitely left home and are fending for themselves.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and a mutual physical attraction is a must to begin with (just like the old days when we spied each other across a crowded room!). That attraction can grow through one's personality, traits, attitude and the realisation that true love doesn't always hit like a bolt of lightening over half a cup of coffee on first meeting (as many seem to expect!). Let's enjoy meeting up and developing something special.
